Facilities and what to bring
We have tried to make this a camping holiday where you don’t need to bring a lot of equipment.
You should definitely bring:
Wellies, torches, warm clothes and wet weather clothes. Bring extra rugs and blankets in case it is chilly, and hot water bottles.
A fully equipped kitchen (see picture) complete with plentiful supplies of washing-up liquid, surface cleaner, kitchen cloths and tea towels, instant coffee and tea bags.
We provide a starter set for your campfire/wood burner – a box of firelighters, a net of kindling, a net of logs, matches and old newspapers for lighting your woodburning stove.
We provide lanterns and lights, all are re-chargeable and/or solar powered. Don’t forget to bring your own torches though
We provide bedding and bedlinen for the main double bed. You can hire additional sets of bed linen in advance for the other beds, at £7 per set of four pillowcases, double sheet and double duvet cover.
We can provide towels at £5 per set of three, booked in advance.
Your own compost loo will have two good-quality toilet rolls and handwash liquid.
Our honesty shop sells basic supplies, usually including matches, firewood, kindling, milk, dairy products, snacks, and basic food. We also have a very good village shop a mile from the farm in the village of West Hill open 7am-8pm with butcher, bakery, post office, wine, vegetables, newspapers etc.
Our three safari tents each have their own hot shower within the tent. For our yurts and bell tent, the showers are in the barn a short walk from the camping area. They are open 24/7, have constantly hot water and are regularly checked and cleaned.
We have fridges, freezer, a washing machine and tumble dryer in the barn, all free to use, plus power points for charging phones etc.
Each camping area has a picnic table and outdoor chairs for up to six people.
